Full Feature : Jeff's 300zx twin turbo


So its full feature time again and this week its Jeff's stunning 300ZX packing a huge 500bhp to match the looks...


The car is very close to being finished after a 2 year build with the majority of the work being completed by himself and his friend Scott but as Jeff says 'Theres always more to be done'. He had the longblock assembled at IPP imports parts pro. Jeff states that most of the equipment on the car was bought from Z1 motorsports and Speciality Z. 



Lets get to the really interesting point which is that beasty engine sat in that stunning tucked bay. Providing the boost is a pair of GT600R turbos which feed the cold air which is sucked in through the JWT filters and through the ASH side mount intercooler into the IPP Longblock which houses 88mm wiseco pistons, Eagle rods where it meets fuel squirted in by the 300 degree fuel rail with 615cc NISMO injectors.




Making sure that the exterior of the car has enough show to match the go Jeff has chosen a Wings West full body kit comprising of the front and rear bumpers and the side skirts.



To ensure that Jeff keeps control of the 500hp on tap he has wisely upgraded the braking system with Z1 11inch discs with the OEM aluminum calipers at all four corners and Hawk Racing pads. Theres also a Stillen master cylinder brace and the system is kept topped up with Motul fluid.


The Z is sitting pretty on SSR Koennig WRV 3pc wheels in 18 x 9 with a plus 35 offset upfront and then 15mm hubcentric spacers, and 18 x 10.5 with a plus 41 offset at the rear. Providing the lows is a set of KTS/SPL coilovers. Also all the bushes and bearings have been upgraded and a Z1 Hicas delete kit has been fitted.

The car has yet to have a final tune, it has a base map on a nistune dyno sheet of 508hp and 530 lbs of torque
